The Voyage
Q How many sea days are there?
12 of the 17 nights are at sea. Transpacific voyages are about the journey — sea days let you fully enjoy the ship's world-class entertainment, dining, spa, and activities.
Q What happens when we cross the International Date Line?
Time advances 24 hours — you 'lose' a day on the calendar. The ship handles this seamlessly, and the captain makes an announcement. It's a fun milestone of the voyage.
Q Will I get bored with so many sea days?
Anthem of the Seas offers North Star, iFLY skydiving, SeaPlex bumper cars, Two70 immersive shows, a Broadway musical, multiple pools, spa, and 15+ dining venues. Most guests wish they had more sea days.
Ports & Destinations
Q What's the best port on this itinerary?
Moorea is the standout — crystal-clear lagoons, volcanic peaks, and world-class snorkeling. Papeete offers vibrant French Polynesian culture, and Tauranga is the gateway to Hobbiton.
Q Are the French Polynesia ports tendered?
Moorea and Raiatea are tender ports — small boats ferry you to shore. This adds 20-30 minutes each way and may be weather-dependent.
Q Can I extend my trip in Sydney or Honolulu?
Absolutely! We recommend arriving in Honolulu 1-2 days early to enjoy Waikiki and recover from jet lag. In Sydney, consider staying a few days to explore the city, Blue Mountains, or Bondi Beach.
Logistics
Q Is this a one-way cruise? How do I get home?
Yes, one-way Honolulu to Sydney. You'll need separate flights to Honolulu and home from Sydney. We can advise on flight options.
Q Do I need a visa for Australia?
Canadian citizens need an ETA (Electronic Travel Authority) for Australia, available online. Chinese passport holders need an Australian tourist visa — apply well in advance.
Q What about the time zone changes?
You'll cross multiple time zones plus the International Date Line. The ship adjusts clocks gradually so the transition feels natural.
