Seoul Christmas Guide: 8 Days of K-Beauty, Shopping & Festive Markets

Seoul in December is magical - Christmas lights everywhere, cozy cafes, and incredible shopping. This itinerary blends K-beauty experiences, trendy neighborhoods, and festive activities.

Day 1: Arrival & Getting Set Up

At the Airport:

  1. Pick up a Wowpass card (multi-currency card + T-money transit)
  2. Load money for both Wowpass payments and T-money transit in the app
  3. Take AREX train to Seoul Station, then Line 3 to your hotel

Pro tip: Wowpass is better than exchanging cash - works everywhere and gives you the real exchange rate.

Evening: Light dinner near your hotel, early night to recover from the flight.

Day 2: Hongdae & Yeonnam-dong - Youth Culture Day

Theme: Young artists, street culture, lively Christmas night

Morning - Korean Hair Styling: Get your hair styled in the Hongdae area where trendy salons concentrate.

Lunch - Yeonnam-dong:

  • Onryang (온량) - Creative Korean set meals
  • Seongsu Dabang (성수다방) - Light cafe meals

Afternoon - Hongdae Shopping:

  • NERDY - Trendy athletic wear

  • Various lifestyle and design boutiques

Christmas vibes: Street performances and festive lights throughout Hongdae. Lotte Department Store Hongdae has large seasonal Christmas installations.

Dinner:

  • Joseon Hwaro (조선화로) - Korean BBQ
  • Pro Soy Crab (프로간장게장) - Famous marinated crab

Night:

  • Live cafe experience at Sogongyeon (소공연)
  • Or clubs like Cakeshop or HenZ Club

Day 3: Seongsu-dong & Seoul Forest - Industrial Chic

Theme: Industrial-style spaces, designer boutiques, relaxed exploration

Morning - Scalp Care Treatment: Seongsu-dong is known for stylish modern salons. Search “Seongsu 두피케어” on Naver for highly rated options.

Lunch:

  • Seongsu Wang Galbi (성수왕갈비) - Grilled beef ribs

Afternoon:

  • Just across from Deoksugung

  • Very festive atmosphere

4:00 PM: Attend the WILD WILD SHOW

After the show:

  • Try Gwangjang Market near City Hall (spicy chicken feet, mung bean pancakes)
  • Or return to Gangnam for Korean BBQ

Day 5: Hanbok & Christmas Lights

Theme: Traditional Korean dress meets sparkling Christmas displays

Airport:
